If ‘di niyo alam, Brand Republic holds many events for its employees. And, no, it’s not just the usual company outing that Pinoys are used to. We have a quarterly iyakan sesh sa LSS and a biannual bakbakan sa BRand Cup where our strat, copy, and accounts skills are tested. And why do we do this? That’s ‘cos we never settle for just the basics.
To better help you understand kung ano ba talaga ang sinasabi ko, here’s a recap of what happened in the last six months and how we enjoyed these (to the max, siyempre).
With A Bang!
January pa lang, dapat may event na agad. That’s why BR opened the year with a welcome dinner for the employees. It’s definitely one of those events that’s very traditional and patterned from most companies. Kumustahan and catch-up lang from all the holiday ganaps that we went to. We do this dahil sometimes, it’s so easy to forget about work especially if you’re having so much fun with family and friends. Kaya it’s the perfect time to reconnect with your workmates and, yes, to start the year right.
Love, Love, Love
Whatever love that may be, BR is here to support it! That’s why the company never forgets to let their employees know that they are loved here in the office. Kahit simpleng cupcake and rosas lang ‘yan, they speak volume in how the company takes care of its people. Yieee. Kiligerz.
Build It!
When it comes to the growth of the employees naman, BR definitely knows how to throw an event that keeps everyone wanting to learn more. Brand Republic held our first BRand Cup of the year. This one definitely brought out everyone’s competitive side. Chz. It’s the event that pumped everyone to do our best in this friendly competition. It’s when we get to evaluate the employees, know if meron bang hidden talents ‘yung iba dyan, and, of course, to give people a stage to shine.
It’s more than just work! That’s why BR also holds an LSS. And it doesn’t stand for Last Song Syndrome, although it definitely leaves an impression on you. LSS stands for Learning and Sharing Session where employees talk about their feelings. Ew.
Well, at least, the feelings you want to share with the group. It’s definitely more of a kumustahan of the employees on how we’re doing in terms of career growth and if ok pa ba talaga kami. Dapat kasi amidst the hustle and saya of the people here in the office, we also need help in processing and connecting with others – aka something that will ground and humble us.
Nine Years and More
This year, Brand Republic celebrated our ninth year of making brands come alive. And if ‘di niyo pa ‘yun alam, edi check out this article na.
Kidding aside, BR really took it to the max this year and went all out by celebrating the anniversary in Thailand. Ang bongga, ‘di ba? It’s more of a give back to the company and everything that BR has achieved throughout the years. It was done that way to celebrate not just the company’s achievement of staying strong in the industry for nine years, but also the people who worked hard to help Brand Republic make brands come alive.

We’re all so thankful here in BR kaya naman we also show gratitude and appreciation to the wondermoms in the office. Just a simple gift to know that we’re proud of how they juggle work-life balance while still being pretty. Yieee. May kinikilig.
One More Burugudun… basta ‘yun
Siyempre, we’re cultured people kaya. Wow. That’s why BR also takes their employees on musical plays para makakuha ng creative inspiration and well… use it on advertising. It’s something new and… as well all know… something new always drives us to create more. ‘Di lang ‘to about experiencing new things, it’s also about learning from these and applying them to our work.

Does It Really Help Tho?
What’s your favorite BR event and why?
BR Anniversary. [I got to e]xperience the local cuisines and vices. 👀 IYKYK. I saw the sleeping Buddha. The milktea was heavenly.
Definitely the musical play kasi it’s a new experience for me and I got to see mga artista. LOL.
LSS. Kasi we get to bond as a group and we get to share experiences that others can learn from and we get to learn from the experiences of others din.
What did you learn from your favorite BR event?
Enjoy accordingly, plan your outings well (songkran), damihan ‘yung pasalubong for myself, and magtiyaga sa shopping.
I learned to breathe. Seriously, parang all we need talaga in life is to take a rest from time to time para ma-energize tayo to do more.
For me, you’re not alone dahil we’re all humans and we experience a lot and we get by or enjoy life with the help of our friends, family, and even mga kasama sa BR.
Did these events really help you personally and career-wise?
Personally, yes, ‘cos I want to travel more. Career-wise, gusto ko pa more.
It helped build me more personally. Career-wise naman parang it helped me rin in knowing how to smoothly incorporate advertising in things na parang ‘di naman pwede lagyan.
Definitely, yes. On a personal level, these activities helped me experience life more kasi andami kong ginagawa. LOL. Sa career ko naman, since my personal cup is filled, it helps me to share more and lead with a more productive, creative, experiential, and positive outlook in life.
But Why?
Are there really benefits from all of these events or nagsasayang lang tayo energy?
It is rest. And it’s also good to get to know your co-workers outside of the work set-up. Yes, it might seem that you guys are friends inside the office, but if you think of it, ‘di ba parang wala kayong choice? It’s because you work closely together and you have to keep the environment positive. These BR ganaps definitely help us see each other differently. Sino ba ‘tong graphic designer na ‘to when she’s with other people during spin class? Sino ba ‘tong copywriter na ‘to when he’s letting loose sa inuman sesh?
We surely behave a different way ‘pag nasa labas na kami ng opisina. Parang you’re meeting a different person. ‘Di mo alam mahilig palang magwalwal ‘yung HR niyo. Oopppsss.
Kidding aside, it’s not just about strengthening our relationship with other people in the company, we also get to have a bit of self-care in terms of experiencing new things and who knows? Baka ulit-ulitin natin? It allows us to discover what we enjoy and what brings us happiness. Aside from that, it also keeps life interesting and prevents stagnation. Wow. Ang daming sinabi.
Although, totoo nga naman na, sometimes, we really need to take breaks from work and just enjoy life. And BR is here to help out with that. Exposing the employees to different experiences not just helps us in career growth, but also balances out any stress there may be.
So maybe, this article really is a letter of gratitude to BR?
A thank you for letting us enjoy life outside of the office and letting us experience things we had no idea we would be experiencing. And, yes, for free.

Katatapos palang ng June so there’s 6 more months to go and n number of events we can hold. At dahil nga one of BR’s core values is to live life to the fullest, for sure, marami pang exciting events na mangyayari in the next 6 months of 2024. Sabi nga ng CEO namin,
“I would never want na dumating ‘yung araw na hindi natin na-e-enjoy ‘yung ginagawa natin as a whole – na puro pera at achievements lang ang focus. Importante talaga ‘yung day-to-day happiness because you never know when your last day is in this world.”
Kaya ang tanong namin is: Ano kayang next event? Jet skiing? Glamping? Hmmm…
