Be zombie-proof on the set!

If you belong to the creative industry, you’re definitely familiar with what goes on during a video production. And just like other agencies, relate din kami sa haggard at pagod na dulot ng video shoots. They are physically and mentally demanding lalo kung full-scale production pa ‘yan.

Here at Brand Republic, we take pride in our digital ads because we plan each project thoroughly to achieve smooth sailing shoots. So, if you’re wondering how we do it, the secret is it’s all about prep! Hindi lang sa team, but also for ourselves. Kasi, sino ba namang gustong maging zombie sa set, ‘di ba? Let us remind you how to take care of yourself before, during, and after video shoots!

  1. Delegate tasks.

Are you the type of manager na sumasalo ng lahat ng gawain because you like keeping things in control? We’re telling you that this isn’t the right way to do it. Your crew members have their responsibilities for a reason – ibigay mo ang task na dapat nilang gawin and let them report their progress to you. Dahil kung hawak mo lahat from casting talents, crafting set designs, hanggang sa directing, you’ll only wear yourself out from the impossible! Plus, sino sasalo kung ikaw ang nagkasakit or may biglaang emergency?

  1. Communicate your needs.

Every production requires teamwork. You have to work as one. Kaya kung may problema man sa tasks mo, then let your heads know immediately! At siyempre para maiwasan ‘to, take the initiative to provide contingency plans. Kahit umabot ka pa from Plan A to Z, ayos lang ‘yan. After all, oras ang hinahabol during shoots that’s why we have to be quick with solutions.

  1. Take time to review scripts or call sheets.

Save yourself from stress by reviewing your scripts and call sheets. Bilang member ng crew, nandiyan lahat ng kailangan mo. Yes, everyone’s all for communication, pero minsan, kailangan mo ring magbasa ng directions, even down to the basics.

  1. Maximize your breaks

Some people tend to skip their meals during shoots. We get it. Take a power nap, eat snacks, and hydrate yourself! In fact, you’ll need these to help you get through the day – dahil bawal ang sabaw kay direk!

  1. Unwind.

Post-prod agad? Hinga muna, bes! You’ll face long nights with a hundred cups of coffee during post-prod. Allow your body to recover from all the physical work.

If you’re unsure what to do after a prod, here’s the sign na para mag-avail ng full body massage! Trust us, your body will thank you for it. Pwede ka ring mag-meditate to ease your worries, or eat comfort food to make yourself feel good. If any of these aren’t your cup of tea, maybe a full 8-hour sleep will suffice. Regardless of what you wanna do, it’s fine. After all, this month is all about prioritizing self-care and we hope you get to put yourself first this time.

And there you have it! Remember that again and again, preparation is key! Make sure to go through every detail of your plan para siguradong handa ka para sa biglaang changes sa araw ng shoot. It’s good practice to keep yourself composed and prepared if things don’t go your way. And lastly, by the time the director says, “It’s a wrap!” take it as a sign to wrap yourself in a blanket and give yourself your well-deserved rest.
